19 runners raised over £5000 for the Muir Maxwell Epilepsy Centre!
This year the Edinburgh Marathon Festival (EMF) fell on the 27th and 28th of May – fortunately, a weekend of fantastic weather for all who took part. Aside from the full (26.2-mile) marathon there are several other races across the weekend including the half (13.1-mile) marathon and Haggis Hairy Team Relay, a 4-way split of the full marathon.
We were fortunate to have 19 dedicated runners who trained exceptionally hard for the several months before the race. And it certainly paid off! Together, they raised an exceptional £5022.42 for the centre. This will help MMEC deliver various research initiatives aimed at improving the lives of children and families living with epilepsy within the local community and nationally.
A massive thank you is in order for our runners:
Of course, any fundraising event hinges on the generous support of others so we send out our sincerest gratitude to all those that supported this year’s runners. Maybe you would like to join our EMF team next year? If so, please contact us at mmec@ed.ac.uk
The EMF participation is part of the University’s Initiative “Fund Raise Your Way”.
